Our Story

From a Detroit Kitchen
to Austin's Favourite Slice

Via 313 started in the most Austin way possible — out of a trailer. Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt brought their Detroit family recipe to East 6th Street, and the city fell in love overnight.

Raised in Detroit, Brandon and Zane grew up eating square, thick-crust pizza with caramelised cheese edges and rich, layered toppings. When they moved to Austin, they couldn't find anything that came close to the pizza they loved — so they made it themselves.

What started as a humble food trailer became a full-scale restaurant beloved by Austinites, food critics, and visitors alike. Today, Via 313 is recognised as one of Austin's defining food experiences — a perfect fusion of Detroit tradition and Austin's bold, creative spirit.

2011

The Trailer Days

Brandon and Zane Hunt park a bright orange food trailer on East 6th Street. Word spreads fast — Austin has never tasted anything like this.

2013

First Brick-and-Mortar

Demand outgrows the trailer. Via 313 opens its first permanent location in South Austin, bringing the Detroit-style experience indoors.

2015

Media Recognition

National food publications take notice. Via 313 is named one of the best pizzas in America, putting Austin on the Detroit-style pizza map.

2018

East 6th Flagship Opens

The flagship location at 1802 E 6th St opens its doors — a full restaurant and bar experience celebrating Detroit roots and Austin culture.

2021

10 Years & Growing
